Tour

What makes tinyPM the best?

Working with user stories

Convenience

tinyPM user story cards are something more than just index cards on your wall. This means that you can of course write them, tear them down, move around on your virtual taskboard.

But you can also add tasks for them, move those tasks from one story to another, upgrade them to stories (no need to rewrite). You can split the story cards easily and decide which tasks stay and which ones go (again no rewrites).

Files and discussions

You can add attachments to stories (same with tasks). Finally you can discuss them using comments and get notified when your colegue from +10 hours timezone responds. Stories can also be tagged and filtered this way.

But there is more...
tinyPM will create some automatic tags for your stories (like colors, statuses, etc.) so you don't have to do it by hand.

Versioning

It's all versioned so that you never lose any valuable information. Your project history will not change because you have just deleted a story or task.

Collaboration for dispersed teams

Shared project knowledge

tinyPM supports collaboration within distributed teams and it does it for real! This means you and all your team mates can share the same user stories view on the virtual taskboard.

You can comment project items, share project knowledge on wiki pages, get notified whenever anybody in you team responds or performs other actions on the user stories and tasks that you are interested in.

Translations

Each member of your team can choose his preferred language for tinyPM interface to feel more comfortable. tinyPM is translated into English, German, Portuguese, French and Polish and that's not our last word :-)

Timezones

All the information presented by tinyPM includes you own timezone information, to respect all remote locations equally. Every stake holder gets the up-to-date information about the project progress any time and wherever it's needed.

Agile product development

Shared product knowledge

tinyPM helps you with agile product management from vision to implementation by importing items from bug trackers, your support mailbox and more through its pluggable connectors.

You can also add any ideas into the sandbox to review them later. When you're ready, just convert them into stories with a single click or reject them before they reach the backlog.

Customer and business engagement

Ease of use

tinyPM is lightweight and flexible. That means it will be adapted easily not only by your development team that is already used to working with all kinds of tools, but will also enable you clients (for whom this may be the first contact with development process) to get started very quickly without having a headache.

Flexible permissions

You will be able to setup distinct roles for all users accessing tinyPM. This will provide both a required security and proper visibility for different aspects of our projects. You are free to decide who sees what in tinyPM.

Notifications

If you wonder how to make your business or clients visit and use tinyPM, well maybe you won't have to? tinyPM provides e-mail notifications and RSS feeds, so the information will get to them even if they forget to take a look at you taskboard.

Accurate and valuable information

Charts and metrics

tinyPM always tries to get as much as possible from the data that all your team members leave everyday in its database. Depending on the way you work, tinyPM will provide you with the required level of information.

This means that if you use small stories with only one or few tasks you will be able to work with story based burndown charts. If you prefer to estimate tasks and work with larger stories, tinyPM will give you task based burndows, so that you can take more accurate decisions.

You will find different kinds of burndown charts in tinyPM. Each of them has it's advantages and will suite other type of project.

But don't worry, you can always switch them and experiment with them during the project.

Time and budget tracking

If you decide to record time spent on tasks, tinyPM will give you the ability to track not only your project scope, but also to track your budget. You will find out more about how you can benefit from such an information in "We are in the right truck!"

Cross-project visibility

If your team works with multiple projects, you will find a cross-project view of the teams' activity in the dashboard. That means you will be able to quickly find out what you are currently working on, how are the projects doing or if any of your team members did not overcommit and is now too loaded with stories.
